From Ban Po Khao Lam, I crossed the Mae Tan River – not on a bridge, but on a traditional bamboo raft. For over an hour, I drifted along the gentle current, surrounded by jungle sounds and the calm rhythm of the river.
These rafts were once an essential way to transport goods and people – and in some places, they’re still in use today.
Heading toward Chiang Mai, this journey reminded me how much beauty there is in slowing down.
